Silva-Tech/South, Ltd. (STS) initiated operation as a branch of Bird Forestry Services, Inc. (BFS) in the summer of 1989. J. Mike Bird (CEO of STS and BFS) had a single goal in mind when he launched STS,

“Provide small non-industrial forest landowners with a dependable and affordable forestry herbicide
application option.”

Since its inception in 1989, STS has evolved into one of the largest ground applicators of forestry herbicides in the Ark-La-Tex region. However, the resolution to help landowners, large and small, achieve their management objectives by providing superior silvicultural services at a fair price has not dissipated. Our commitment to customer satisfaction is paralleled by a sincere dedication to the environment we work in. A responsible work ethic ensures the resource will be viable for generations to come.

Finally, we here at STS realize adherence to the above philosophy has been, and will continue to be, paramount to our growth as a premier forest vegetation management and reforestation provider in the southeastern United States.
